About me
I am a high school student from New York seeking to share my research on gifted/talented education. I have had the opportunity to take part in many different types of accelerated programs and educational settings, and I know that each student has his/her individual needs. In the field of education, new developments and advancements are constantly being implemented. I hope to not only provide answers for parents and educators who are seeking a better understanding of their high ability students, but also to advocate for the advancement of gifted education as a whole.
National Association of Gifted Children (NAGC)
“NAGC staff and leaders support and develop policies and practices that encourage and respond to the diverse expressions of gifts and talents in children and youth from all cultures, racial and ethnic backgrounds, and socioeconomic groups. NAGC supports and engages in research and development, staff development, advocacy, communication, and collaboration with other organizations and agencies who strive to improve the quality of education for all students.” – http://www.nagc.org/about-nagc/who-we-are#sthash.vtmp0PHT.dpuf
Supporting Emotional Needs of the Gifted (SENG)
“In 1981, SENG was formed to bring attention to the unique emotional needs of gifted children. It provided adults with guidance, information, resources, and a forum to communicate about raising and educating these children.” http://sengifted.org/about-seng#sthash.AIRByj6Q.dpuf
